My name is David, aka Chef Davu.

I started cooking long before I became a professional chef. Because my personal journey paved the way to my life’s work.

I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, raised in early childhood in Panama City and spent my middle and high school years in the Chicagoland area. From there I continued my education in Arizona and landed in Los Angeles, which I call home, 15 years ago.

Davu’s Crispy Rice came to be when I realized crispy sushi rice spicy tuna was so loved at restaurants, but it was too tough to make at home.

My mission to make food that you love and can enjoy.
